Writing Update November 25

It has been a little while since I updated this site, so this is the third and final new post of this round.

Quite a lot has happened since the last update in the summer. I’ve been ‘on the radio’ (see separate post) and attended the first Liverpool Book Festival, organised by La Vida Liverpool. A great day, and a fab debut for a new event. A second one is slated for March 2026 and at which I and Northodox will be there!

It was really busy, lots of authors to meet and books sold. One of my stable mates, Jamie Jackson, even had an hour of DJing as the day went on.

Beyond that it’s been almost full steam ahead. The Triton Run sold out its first print run! Now, it’s hardly J K Rowling but Northodox were delighted – and so was I. Not bad for a debut author, and within about 4 months. So as I type this the wholesaler, Gardners, have zero stock.

Northodox hold some and Waterstones have copies, many of which are signed. It is still very surreal to go into a bookshop and see my own book!

A second print run is being done, and as part of that we’ve taken the chance to fix some of the typos (and remove the duplicate chapter 79!) as well as tinker with the cover to add some reviews. Exciting times.

Meanwhile, work on my second book, Jovian Sunset continues and I look forward to sharing the cover soon.

It’s been edited and I am just working through those before its typeset and reviewed again. It is out in March and can be pre ordered from Northodox soon. Ted, who is editing it, seems quite excited. He said he didn’t spot the twist at the end and it was quite emotional.

Jovian Sunset is a sequel, but it is also designed to be read without The Triton Run (but why would you do that?!).

I am also working on a third project for Northodox, news of which to follow.
