The outpouring of love for Diogo and his brother has been incredible. He was adored at Wolves nearly as much as he was at Anfield it seems, and all over the world sportsmen and women, celebrities and politicians have paid tribute.

I can’t do him justice, I won’t even try. What I can say is that Jota was loved at Anfield. He wasn’t our best player, but he had a heart bigger than most. He was a street fighter, he never gave up. He was always in the thick of it, getting stuck in and scoring when it mattered most.

He will forever be our Number 20.
